Dear Paul

Your statement just came to hand.  It is very good considering the financial condition.  I havent been buying stocks and shall not.  I believe they are high enough & would sell some except for income tax but shall leave things just as they are at present.  I shall pay 1000? or 1500. to [?] next week & shall have it cleared up the first of the month I think.  There was really no reason why I should not have given you the money except a notion that I had better get it of the bank.  However I have pleanty? at Noyes & Jackson & if I hadnt it is perfectly easy to put up more collateral so if you want any give me a days notice and draw on N. & J. it is no trouble whatever.
Crowell & Co. wrote me that they had an order for 500? of my books from England & they asked me for a few [corrections?] which I have made including the one you suggested & am getting out a new edition.  It seems to be doing well.
