Dear Paul

Glad to get your statement.  It looks good.  Am glad to see that you have gained on meters over last year.  I remember the Owens place xxx west of the oil land we were on.  I am glad you went into it.  I will take half of your interest and will send the 500 during this month.  It is about the safest way I have heard of to go into the oil game.  Let the other fellows sink the wells.  I have been busy in court for three weeks in the Faherty case[.]  It will cese this week & we will win.  Am glad to see that you are getting the indebtedness reduced every month—

Hastily

I wrote Everett about his bonds saying we would take them up any time if he wished; he said to let them go as they are.  If we issue prefered stock at 07%  in place of bonds I am quite sure he will be glad to take it.  How would it be to issue about 50 or $100000— preferred at  07%  and give the Co the option to take it up at any time for 105 and give the stock holders the right to cash it in on any dividend day by giving 30 days notice.  Most of it would be ours any way.
