Dear Paul

Lil and blanche were in yesterday: they were both looking fine.  I am going out of town today but will see them on Monday & try to arrange for Blanche to see the Dr.  That was a bully good thing of yours in your paper.  It ought to make them take notice, but the big fellows dont care much about the west.  If you get up a public sentiment it will help a lot in keeping the stocks open.  Sorry your negotiations for sale of the plant dont go on faster but I suppose you cant hurry them.  Shall be in N.Y.  before very long and will drop into Dohertys office and of course they will talk with me about it.  I am anxious to see it go through if it can be done in fairly good time.  It is too much for you to stay on the job all the time as you have done so long.  If you dont succeed in disposing of it, xxx it seems to me as if we ought to look into the question of getting natural gas.  Although I suppose that would involve a considerable outlay.

C.S.D.
