My Dear Mr. Salt —
It is always a glad moment when I open the mail box & see in there a letter from you.
You are now in your new Deslyshire house. I am glad you are going to live more under the open sky than you could live there in London. Now, if you'll send me an occasional "snap- shot" of yourself & Mrs. Salt & your new nest.
I do not feel acquainted with Dr. Stockhom, of
whom you speak, having met her very briefly only 2 or 3 times. The most vivid impression I have of her is one which she gave me once when she presented me with a pitcher of cracked ice down my back, after she had looked over my manuscript of "Better World Philosophy".
I am very busy this fall. My school work has been changed so that it is now [largely ?] ethics. I am expected to teach the 950 boys at the [Crane ?] how to act. Besides my regular work I am giving a course of lectures here that requires a good deal of preparation. I am sending you 2 or 3 extracts. Don't hold me responsible for all the errors in them.
