Walter Johnson, Washington Americans c. March 1911
Mar, 1911
During the Haywood trial, Walter Johnson was a twenty-year-old pitcher for a minor league team in Weiser, about seventy-five miles Northwest of Boise. He was such a phenomenal player, that when Weiser played Caldwell, the game rivaled the Haywood trial in terms of public interest. Johnson later became one of the best pitchers in baseball history.
