Clarence Darrow wrote in his autobiography "The Story of My Life" about picking a jury for the McNamara trial: "This was, as usual, a difficult task. The case had been given such wide publicity, and feelings were so high on both sides, that it was practically impossible to find any one who had no opinion and seemed able to offer both sides a fair consideration of the case at hand."
