Frank Steunenberg

Frank Steunenberg was the fourth Governor of the State of Idaho, serving from 1897 until 1901. He was assassinated December 30, 1905. His good friend William E. Borah said of him: "Frank Steunenberg was of the rarest type of manhood. Open, sincere, modest and unassuming, he was in his purposes and plans as inflexible as honor itself. Rugged in body, resolute in mind, almost massive in the strength of his convictions, he was of the granite hewn." Funeral address given on January 3, 1906, Caldwell, Idaho.
