Charles Hodge [between 1855 and 1865]

Charles Hodge (1797 - 1878) was the principal of Princeton Theological Seminary between 1851 and 1878. One of the most prominent defenders of historical Calvinism, Hodge was also an early vocal critic of evolution. In his 1874 book "What is Darwinism?" Hodge answered that it was atheism.
