Judge Albert Cristy

Judge Albert Cristy placed considerable pressure on the grand jury to return an indictment against the defendants accused of murdering Joe Kahahawai. Eventually the grand jury returned an indictment for second degree murder against Thomas Massie, his mother-in-law Grace Fortescue and two navy sailors Edward Lord, and Deacon Jones. If not for Judge Cristy's actions it is likely that the Massie murder trial would never have taken place.
