My dear Mr. Darrow -

Some days ago, in response to a request for one of the Tribune Cartoons, I sent a messenger boy to your office with the drawing. As I have not heard whether the "work of art" reached you safely, I have feared that the aforesaid messenger boy may have failed to deliver it according to directions. If it has not reached you, will you be good enough to let me know, and I will try to locate it.

Yours very truly

John T. M c Cutcheon
