Whereas an act passed in this kingdom in the eighth year of the reign of her late Majesty Queen Anne, intituled, An act for explaining and amending an act, intituled, An act to prevent the further growth of popery, so far as it relates to the encouragement to popish priests becoming protestants, is now expired: and whereas it is now found by experience, that that part of the said recited act, so far as it relates to the encouragement to popish priests becoming protestants, is useful and proper to be revived; be it enacted by the King's most excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the lords spiritual and temporal and commons in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, That the said recited act, so far as it relates to the encouragement to popish priests becoming protestants, and all and every the clauses, articles, and provisoes therein contained, shall be and are hereby revived, and continued in force for the term of eleven years, and from thence to the end of the then next session of Parliament.
