Notable Editions

First editions are often prized among printed books. By virtue of their priority – though not always scarcity – first editions have an inherent appeal in collections and among collectors. Yet later editions can also have unusual and special value. These editions may be corrected and authorized, can be printed in unusual places and languages, and can add new and significant material to the printed text. Among the books below none are first editions, but all are notable; in some ways more notable than the first editions themselves.
